The Paris Region Economic Development Agency was set up to match businesses' needs and the regional offer. PREDA has five key remits set out in a contract between the regional council and the Agency, focused on the achievement of three main goals:

Help create and safeguard jobs in Paris Region
Enhance Paris Region's economic attractiveness
Support areas in the region affected by economic changes
5 principal remits:
1. Promote the economic attractiveness of the region abroad,
2. Attract foreign investors to Paris Region,
3. Coordinate the marketing of the regional offer,
4. Help investors prior to and during their location to Paris Region,
5. Support areas facing economic changes.
and 3 additionnal remits
Incorporate sustainable development into each of the main remits,
Involvement of PREDA in activities in the business travel and meetings sector in Paris Region and help promote Paris Region trade shows internationally, as well as supporting the organisation of new events,
Help technology SMEs from Paris Region expand into the United States.
