In the spotlight: Sanofi-Aventis
Sanofi-Aventis is Europe's leading pharmaceutical group, the third largest in the world. The Group's international research structure focuses on seven major fields of medicine: thrombosis, cardiovascular and metabolic disease, oncology, central nervous system, internal medicine and vaccines.
With almost 100,000 employees, Sanofi-Aventis is present in more than 100 countries all over the globe. Consolidated revenues for 2006 amounted to €28.4 billion. In 2006, the company invested €4.4 billion in research and development. Sanofi-Aventis has 125 molecules and vaccines under development including 46 products in advanced phases IIb and III.
