Every year, Paris hosts Beyond Beauty - the international trade fair that brings together all players in the sector, from design through to the manufacture and marketing of products and services. Main playersL'Oréal, Lancôme, Guerlain, Yves Saint Laurent, Clarins, Shiseido, Paco Rabane, Hermès, Lancaster, Bourjois, Johnson&Johnson Consumer France - these are just some of the world-famous names that have chosen Paris Region as the base for their strategic operations (R&D, production, logistics, design and packaging). The same applies to many manufacturers of fragrances and ingredients including Danisco, Firmenich, Givaudan, IFF and Takasago.
Research and trainingParis Region companies dedicate a high proportion of their investments to R&D, making the most of the new research tax credit measures introduced by the government. They also benefit from the region's exceptional strength in the biotechnology sector. The cosmetics sector can also draw on a highly-qualified local workforce. The relevant specialist colleges are of a very high standard: ISIPCA in particular has been training professionals in perfumery, cosmetics and food aromatics since 1970. A large number of colleges and universities offer training in chemistry and pharmacology which takes account of the latest technological advances. Contract Research Organisations - CROs - such as DermExpert specialise in the clinical development of dermatological products. The Cosmetic Valley global competitiveness cluster, launched in 2005, brings together more than 200 companies in the sector, helping manufacturers position their operations at the cutting edge of scientific innovation. |
