SETAM CARABIN is specialised in high-precision mechanical engineering. Can you expand on that?
Our main strength and area of specialisation is the manufacture of quality high-precision gears. Our core business is the design and production of mechanical power and movement transmission assemblies for the high-tech industries. Our activities include design, prototyping and production of reducing gears and the manufacture of highprecision mechanical parts with or without gears. Our main markets are the aerospace and defence industries.

What sets you apart?
We hope to become a real partner to the aerospace industry. We already export within Europe and to the USA. To improve the support we offer our customers we plan to establish a presence in the dollar area, Asia and North Africa in line with the strategies of Airbus and our customers. Our objective is to increase the proportion of our international sales from 15% to over 30% and we on target, thanks in particular to various acquisitions.

Is it important to be located in Paris Region?
It is fundamental. We are supported by Paris Region, which has given our plans the stamp of approval, and also by the Paris Region branch of OSEO, an organisation that supports SMEs' innovation and expansion projects. In addition, over the past few months we have been monitored as part of the Region's ACAMAS operation, aimed specifically at mechanical engineering companies, and by the mechanical engineering technical centre CETIM which is also very active. So we have a dynamic support network that enables us to move forward.
