MEDIT, molecular modelling specialist

Founded in 2003, MEDIT is a developer of software for the rational design of candidate pharmaceuticals. The software uses patented MED-SuMo technology, the only one of its kind in the world. It is the only molecular modelling software that allows the study of the interactive surfaces of known biomolecule 3D structures (comparison of chemical function and form) within a few minutes. Its main applications are functional annotation, characterising active sites and the controlled creation of candidate molecules, explains François Delfaud, CEO. The company has also developed a partnership with Synchrotron SOLEIL in Gif-sur-Yvette, and works on solutions to identify new targets by comparing surface interactions between proteins.

Based in Palaiseau, MEDIT has 11 staff, a distributor in Japan, dedicates 90% of its activity to R&D, and does 20% of its business overseas. Its Paris Region location gives the company easy access to its preferred partners (Paris XI University, the Pasteur Institute, Inserm (national institute for medical research), ICSN -Gif (Institute of the chemistry of natural substances). MEDIT is also a member of Systematic Paris-Region and Medicen Paris-Region. In a highly competitive world, these two internationally renowned clusters equip us to break into new markets. They also provide efficient resources in terms of financial support and networks, states CEO François Delfaud.
