LEOSPHERE develops and sells LIDAR (Light Detection and Ranging) systems and their associated services, applied to climatology, wind energy, meteorology and air quality. In association with the LS CE (climate and environmental sciences research unit) and ONERA (French aerospace laboratory), this innovative SME offers a high-end value-added solution. We are different in three ways. Firstly, we offer a robust and easy-to-use solution in the form of Easy LidarTM, a ready-to-use tool that detects and locates atmospheric dust in space in real time. Secondly, we have substantial scientific expertise in atmospheric physics. Thirdly, we have a unique dual range of LIDAR aerosol and LIDAR wind systems, explains CEO Alexandre Sauvage.

Founded in 2004, LEOSPHERE won the Paris Innovation award and the ANVAR (research evaluation agency) national start-up support competition for innovative technology businesses. Based in Orsay, it is a member of Durapole, a group of young innovative companies in the sustainable development field based in Paris Region. We are also members of Club ADEME International (French eco-business network). ADEME has given us great support in terms of export, as well as helping us meet to key industry players and potential customers within France, adds Alexandre Sauvage. LEOSPHERE exports 90% of its business to the USA, Europe and Asia. It hopes to establish partnerships with India in 2009, and to become the market leader by 2010.
