With some 36,000 employees, almost 80,000 trucks and over 7,300 buses, coaches and bus chassis sold, the company had record turnover for the fourth year running in 2006, registering sales of €8.7 billion.

Having established a firm base in the key Western European market, MAN Nutzfahrzeuge is already successfully making inroads into the emerging markets of Eastern Europe and Asia. Its products and solutions, geared to the varied and specific requirements of customers worldwide, include light, medium and heavy-duty trucks, special vehicles, buses and coaches, engines and mechanical parts.
Interestingly, it was MAN AG in Germany that gave Rudolf Diesel the opportunity to test and develop his ideas for the diesel engine at its factory in Augsburg between 1893 and 1897. MAN is also the only truck manufacturer to win "Truck of the Year" seven times.

Paris Region Economic Development Agency assisted the company in its search for land and premises, put it in touch with the authorities in the various Paris Region departments and arranged site visits.
