IAV, based in Germany, is one of the global leaders in automotive engineering. Its core field of expertise is the development of powertrain systems, hybrid and electric drivetrains, vehicle electronics and complete vehicles.

IAV's French subsidiary at Guyancourt was established in March 2007 and currently has 35 employees. Its core business is developing turnkey projects in which it takes charge of all the methods and the project results. Other IAV sites often contribute their complementary expertise in projects of this type. Co-development projects carried out in conjunction with the client are another form of collaboration, used in particular for innovative fields of activity and involving composite teams.

In order to meet its clients' needs more effectively, IAV France has decided to open a new site at La Garenne Colombes and to expand its workforce. IAV France is also a member of the Mov'eo competitiveness cluster and launched its first cluster-accredited project in 2008, in conjunction with several other partners.

PREDA, working in partnership with the Invest in France Agency, assisted the company in accessing the support available for R&D operations.
