In 2011 Paris Region welcomed 233 foreign companies,1 far more than any other region in France. Over the next three years, these companies, which come from 31 countries, will create more than 7,000 jobs in the region.
For the last nine years, Paris Region Economic Development Agency (PREDA) has held the PREDA International Companies Forum in November. The purpose of the forum is to welcome international SMEs recently arrived in Paris Region and help them become firmly established, putting them in touch with large companies to facilitate their integration and development in the region.

Thanks to the diversity of its laboratories and skills centres, Paris Region is able to meet the needs of companies seeking to develop cleaner and more intelligent vehicles in a very fertile scientific and technological environment. This year, the group CCC (Competence Call Center) and its 3,000 employees are on a course to pursue their international growth by establishing a call centre in the Paris Region. Founded in 1998 in Vienna, Austria, the CCC Group specialises in customer relations and has 10 call centres established in 7 European countries (mainly in Eastern Europe). more

On Monday, July 11th, 2011, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between Atlanta Mayor Kasim Reed (USA), Paris Region Economic Development Agency Chairman and Hubstart Paris Alliance Representative Jean-Claude Detilleux, and Aéroports de Paris representative Elisabeth Le Masson; the signing took place in the presence of Bernard Anquez, Air France representative at Delta Airlines.

On April 11th, 2011, a letter of intent was signed by 6 representatives from the airport zones of Greater Roissy, France, and Greater Memphis, Tennessee, USA, in the presence of Mr AC Wharton, Mayor of Memphis and Mr Maurice Leroy, Minister of the City and Greater Paris. The objective is clear: to intensify economic cooperation between both airport zones and to develop opportunities and business schemes of shared interest.

Seventeen industrial companies will be representing Paris Region at the prestigious Hannover Messe trade fair, from 4 to 8 April 2011, at which France is guest of honour. In 2010, the Paris Region welcomed 243 foreign companies, up an outstanding 27% as compared to 2009, and to 22% for the rest of France. This new production potential will generate over 8,400 jobs in the next three years, against 8,300 in 2009, which also puts the Paris Region ahead of its French counterparts.
Arts et Métiers Paristech has finalized an exchange agreement for graduate students and researchers with the University of California Berkeley. The agreement was signed on Feb 10, 2011 by Professor Jean-Marie Castelain, Arts et Métiers ParisTech’s Deputy Chairman in charge of international affairs and Professor Robert J. Birgeneau, Chancellor at UC Berkeley.
Paris Region will be strongly represented at this 22nd Mipim, as it is every year. Over 30 exhibitors from both the public and the private sector will be grouped under the Paris Region banner, confirming the unflagging interest of the region’s key players for this essential commercial real estate event. The Paris Region pavilion, organised by the Paris Region Economic Development Agency, will be located in the two Marina Hall marquees which will be hosting some 40 events (talks, receptions and press briefings) during the four days of the show.
