The November 20, 2009
The International Enterprise Forum organised by PREDA, the Paris Region Development Agency, proved a huge hit again this year, bringing 415 participants together in Pavillon Gabriel on 12 November.
More registrations than ever
More than 80 international companies attended, making the most of this opportunity to meet the 17 major groups* involved in the event - which generated more than 230 individual pre-booked meetings.
Even more of us are here than in 2008, demonstrating that despite the most serious crisis to impact the global economy since 1945, the trend towards openness in trade and investment - generally known as globalisation - remains intact, noted Jean-Claude Seys, Chairman of PREDA's Board of Directors, in his speech.
Key new developments for the 2009 session were the participation of three new major corporations - Bull, Schneider Electric and Sagem Wireless - and the launch of a discussion forum for international SMEs.
*The Enterprise Forum's 17 major partners: Aéroports de Paris, Air France, Alcatel Lucent, BNP-Paribas, Bull, Crédit Agricole, Dassault Aviation, EDF, GDF Suez, GE, Microsoft, Renault, Sagem Wireless, Schneider Electric, Siemens, Total, Veolia.

The workshops
This year's Forum also repeated an innovation introduced in 2008: themed workshops. Unlike the meetings between major groups and international businesses which have recently located to the region, these workshops are open to everyone. They are moderated by professionals, highly interactive, and an extremely valuable source of information.
Workshop 1: Human Resources. From recruitment to career management: a people-centred business

Reception
The event closed with a reception: a chance for attendees to continue their discussions in an informal setting.
