4th quarter 2010: 8.2%
After falling by 0.3 points over the entire first half of 2010 (decreasing from 8.4% to 8.1%), the Paris Region's unemployment rate saw less encouraging developments at the end of the year.
Thus, after climbing to 8.2% in Q3 2010, it stabilised at this level during the last three months of the year. This interruption in the decline of the Paris Region's unemployment rate at the end of the year while the level of salaried employment was generally well oriented also contrasted with the dynamics at the national level. After stagnating in Q3, the unemployment rate in France fell 0.1 points in the final quarter to 9.2%. Despite these more favourable developments at the national level, the increase in the Paris Region's unemployment rate compared with the low point of Q1 2008 remained lower than the rate observed for the entire territory (+1.6 points in the Paris Region compared with +2.0 points for all of France).
