March 2011: +1.9% passenger traffic year-on-year
Despite a slight slowdown in March and after the disappointing results in late 2010, the growth in passenger traffic in Aéroports de Paris (Paris Airports) was better oriented during first quarter 2011.
After the 1.2% decline in December, traffic for the months of January, February and March increased 5.1%, 5.2% and 1.9% compared to the same months in 2010. However, the particularly significant increases of the first two months of the year should be put into perspective, since traffic in January and February 2010 had suffered from both social movements and bad weather.
The good direction of the first months of the year was also not sufficient to regain the levels observed during summer 2010, as the geopolitical environment affected traffic with North Africa and the Middle East rather significantly.
