Biospace Med, dedicated to ultra low dose osteo-articular imaging
Biospace med was founded in 1989 by Georges Charpak - winner of the Nobel Prize for physics in 1992 - and since late 2007 the company has been developing and marketing EOS, a comprehensive orthopaedic imaging solution which uses very low doses of radiation. This revolutionary system provides images of the entire skeleton - frontal and lateral, and in 3D - while reducing patient irradiation by up to 90% when compared to film, explains Marie Meynadier, Biospace med's CEO. Since raising capital at the end of 2005, the company has been in industrial production for just two years and established a subsidiary in Atlanta in 2007. We're pursuing a very ambitious strategy with the aim of rolling out our technology in key European markets and in North America, continues Marie Meynadier.
The company is based in Paris and has strong roots in the region, as Marie Meynadier confirms: For me the concept of territory is a very important one: we've got a network of academic and medical partnerships with hospitals, practitioners and research institutes in Paris Region, which forms the basis of a project accredited by the Medicen Paris Region competitiveness cluster. And being in Paris facilitates recruitment: it's a very attractive location. Finally our presence in Paris is an advantage in terms of international relations.
